Turn down the thermostat and keep warm on cold floors with these traditional Russian felt boots that mold to your feet with time. If the snow is crisp you can even wear them outside. If it's slushy, slip the rubber goulashes over the boots and off you go.
I bought a pair for a Christmas gift from AKA Culture. Look close and the AKA logo on the side is a hammer and sickle barely disguised. Russians were warding off Siberian winters in valenki long before the Revolution. These days they're styled for frigid fashionistas, too, so poke about the web and see what you can find . . .
