Neko has been a personal favorite for a long time. Her voice is heartbreaking and beautiful--plus she is probably the most talented female songwriter currently working, penning lines like "Bravery is mistaken for the thrashing in the lake / of the make-believe monster whose picture was faked."

Her songs are beautiful and her lyrics are progressively transforming. There's really not much more to say about that besides that this is an album everyone should have in their collection.

a gorgeous, swirling, mature, ominous, lush, hopeful and yet twisted fairy tale. an album that restored my faith in ALBUMS. my first listen was with my headphones on... i sat on my bed & listened to the whole album straight through. it was revelatory. neko case is my hero.

Still can't get enough of this record. In constant rotation throughout 07. Haunted, deep and poetic. Lyrics verging on abstraction, but rooted in everyday living. Will erase any American Idol-style music from your mind. Yes, it is that good.

Neko Case has some of the most amazing lyrics I've ever heard, not to mention her music is hauntingly beautiful and hits very close to home for me. Fox Confessor Brings the Flood, her most recent album, really showcases Case's strengths and is an absolute must hear! "Star Witness" is my favorite track; I can't get enough of this song! The title track is also really awesome.
