If you can't stand smart, funny shows with good character development and compelling story lines, avoid Veronica Mars like the plague. Otherwise...

I never thought I'd like this show because Kristen Bell's voice annoys me, but I started watching season 1 because my roommate has it and I am hooked. Like seriously, it's a Grey's Anatomy status addiction. Kristen Bell is very likeable, and the plot is so interesting. There's a few main mysteries that continue through the whole show, but each episode has a few lighter, more fun cases she solves. Kind of like CSI meets 90210 and Gossip Girl.

Ok I may be a lit biased because I met Kristen Bell last week at a charity event, but hey I watched Veronica Mars way before that! At first glance, you'd think... what?!? Veronica Mars? A CW show? A high school show? It's not a LOST or a Heroes TV show, but this actually got me engaged throughout the season with an interesting storyline, character development, and an unique approach.

The series overall has it's high points and low point (season 1 being by far the best, in my opinion). Kristen Bell's performance can be credited in large part with the shows success. I particularly enjoyed the relationship between her and her sometimes PI, sometimes sheriff father (Enrico Colantoni) Smart and witty, a critical fave with low ratings constantly teetering on the edge of being cancelled. It managed to last 3 seasons-in large part due to grassroots fan support-before getting axed.
