Designed by Toshio Iwai, the TENORI-ON is a "keyboard" instrument with a touch screen allowing you to sketch your music on the interface. It has all a digital musician's requirements like 16 layers, 256 preset tones, and 6 sequence/loop modes, but for those of us who are simply attracted to anything that twinkles, the TENORI-ON displays the musical output in lights.

Tried it at siggraph (earlier prototype) a few yeaers ago and it was so much fun to play with. It looks even better now.

I've been hoping that a the electronic keyboard would one day evolve from the piano and wood/sampled acoustic instruments into a new instrument in it's own right.
