Oh how I love this movie. Alan Ball became my hero even more when he went on to create Six Feet Under. Excellent characters, exceptional storyline, amazing actors and a haunting score. All elements of a memorable movie watching experience. One of my favorites. (via Amazon)

This was such a gorgeous movie with a human touch to it that for days after I was still thinking about it. This package is a double feature with american beauty and the virgin suicides.

Kevin Spacey (Lester Burnham) stuns his family and himself when he loses his job and finds a life, because everyone (his daughter included) are convinced he is just one big loser. By the end of the movie, he finally knows he is anything but.

This drama about dysfunctional familes in suburbia stars Kevin Spacey as a man in midlife crisis who abruptly quits his job, takes up bodybuilding, and lusts after his teenage daughter's friend and Annette Bening as his high-strung wife who's ready to snap. The film closes with a rapid dénouement, which reveals that everything is not how it appears.
