Colorful and unconventional slapstick comedy. Vowing to go straight, a convenience store bandit (Nicolas Cage) proposes marriage to the police departments photographer (Holly Hunter). All is wedded bliss until they discover she's unable to get pregnant and are turned down by every adoption agency in town. It does not take long before they realize the only solution is to kidnap one of the town's celebrated quintuplets and hit the road!
Many hilarious and touching scenes occur in this great movie from the Coen brothers with some top-notch acting and fleshed out characters. "Raising Arizona" also launched a decade of creativity by the Coen brothers unmatched by any modern directors

For me, this was the first Cohen Brothers film I saw. In no questionable way, it transformed me into a lifetime fan. And, even though it was made over 20 years ago, it remains one of the funniest films I've ever seen.

This one time at Disneyland! I sat next to Nicolas Cage at dinner! I've been a huge fan ever since! He stars in Raising Arizona along Holly Hunter! Also featured is John Goodman as the idiot con best friend! Holly Hunter needs to be a mother! And need meeting convict makes for an interesting story!

This movie cracks me up! I was just thinking about the fight scene the other day on the train and I laughed out loud. But what do you expect. Its a Coen brothers film. And it was the last time I could see Nicholas Cage without wanting to jab spoons into my eyes.
Its the story of a small town police officer (Hunter) who falls for a petty theif (Cage). They settle down but are unable to have kids, so the come up with the dim witted idea to steal one of the town's highly publicized quintuplets.
Hilarious! (via Amazon)

I'm not the biggest Nicholas Cage fan in the world, but he really clicks in this role as a well-intentioned but easily influenced ex-con who decides, along with his cop wife, to steal a baby when they can't have one of their own or adopt. Lots of funny performances by some fairly well-known actors - plus it's set very close to where I live so it's cool to see the familiar sights. Give this one a chance if you haven't seen it!

One of the best movies EVER made. Holly Hunter's WT accent and the way she and Nicolas Cage talk to each other is the greatest.
Favorite line: I wanna baby. They have more than they can handle. GET ME A TODDLER. (via auntbeep)
