Charles Shaw is an American brand of "extreme value" wine produced in California distributed exclusively by Trader Joe's grocery stores selling for a mere $1.99. Because of this, the Charles Shaw wines are affectionately known as Two Buck Chuck. Shaw's 2005 California chardonnay was judged Best Chardonnay from California at the 2007 California State Fair Commercial Wine Competition.

As a long time wino, every other wine selection unless tested is just a financial risk. Tip: Buy it by the case. Do you get a price break when you buy it by the case? NO~ For goodness sake its $2.99! But you need at least 12 bottles because it will FLY out of those bottles and into the bellies of all your guests.

You really can't be $2 bottles of wine. They really are classic flavors that can be elevated with the right meal. Not the most complex and interesting flavors but they certainly get the job done and are good for a casual spaghetti dinner.

A brand of wines and thorn in the side of premium bottlers that's generated a cult following due to their favorable taste and extreme affordability - $2 a bottle. Maybe to the uber distinguished wine connoisseur, the difference in quality is noticeable, but the average bloke can happily sip on these knowing that he didn't pay some absurd premium.

TJ's has some good cheap wine. There are quite a few kinds that I stock the hell up on and keep on hand. Then when we accidentally drink them all at a dinner party, or I inadvertently polish one off with my dinner, I'm not broke

Two favorite whites:
Blue Fin Chardonnay - $4ish
Honey Moon Viognier - $4ish
