While everyone is talking about how cool the video on this is, I actually use mine more for music and pictures. The slideshow app is awesome on a giant HD screen, and the iTunes music interface is great once you hook this up to your stereo. I'm not a huge downloader of iTunes shows (I use iTunes more as a back-up for my DVR if that somehow misses something) but I do use iSquint to transcode other video I have (home movies, lectures, etc.) into m4v format and love watching them on TV via the Apple TV.

For the way we watch TV chez moi, AppleTV is the ultimate: we get into a series and want to watch it through to the end. Right now, it's all about "The Office."

AppleTV sounds like it'll allow us to watch what we want to watch, when we want to watch it... even if it isn't something we've had the foresight to record.

With all the programming and video content available online now, I would almost consider cutting my cable and purchasing one of these. This slim console delivers iTune content to your television set and supports a host of features.

Sleek small, perfect for living room and can be hacked to act like tivo and surf web and sync to all your computers. After i bought this i cancelled my direct tv, because it was no longer necessary
