Delicious gin with the flavor of cucumbers alongside juniper. They are distributed more in the US than they used to be but you might have to hunt a bit to find. Makes a remarkable martini as well as a g&t or gin based cocktail.

This is my favourite gin, and I have tried many! It somehow (amazingly) has the cool, clean smell of cucumbers. Try it with San Pellegrino Limonata soda for the world's most refreshing summer drink!

So. I may or may not have been taught how to make a G&T before I could sufficiently tie my shoes on the first try, but I assure you I did not start drinking the stuff myself until senior year of college.
I was always opposed to the piney taste of Beefeater and Bombay that my parents usually had me use when playing ten-year-old bartender, so I was always wary of gin in general, sticking to vodka and rum. However, my dad usually has an elaborate collection of gin at their house, and most recently, he made me a gin and tonic with Hendrick's. The cucumber and rose petals it is infused with give it a much less offensive smell and bite, while still being a hearty gin. Coming from someone who is slowly starting to enjoy liquor of this persuasion, Hendrick's is an excellent place to start.

Mike Ovitz's restaurant/bar Kumo uses this in its Juniper Breeze cocktail which includes Hendricks gin muddled with fig and shaken with pineapple, cranberry and homemade sour.

I am a gin girl at heart. I have found myself drinking vodka a bit more recently, but right now it's all about the gin.
I remember the first time I was introduced to Hendrick's. I was in a martini bar in West Hollywood and I asked the bartender to shake me up a cucumber martini. When he told me they don't make that, I wanted to splash my drink in his face. Until I realized I had no drink to splash. The bartender quickly redeemed himself by telling me about a gin that tasted like cucumber (it was Hendricks). So I said “Ok, sure ... I will give it a try.”
I can't say I remember how the gin tasted that night. But I do remember that I had a great time.
Flash-forward to this week when a bottle of Hendricks arrived at my door (isn't shipping wonderful) and I was ready to give this gin a second try.
Delicious.
Not only is this gin delicious, it tastes like on other gin I have ever laid lips on. I also love the website because it has tons of interesting cocktail ideas. (via ThisNext Blog)

This is my liquor of choice, a small-batch gin distilled in Scotland. It's got a bit of the pineyness that most gin has, but is infused with cucumber, which makes it refreshing. I like Hendrick's mixed with tonic; you don't want to mask its taste.
