It's been a few years since I saw this flick, but it left an indelible impression. It has also been on my DVD wish list ever since. There are many of my favorite elements in a film: revenge, over-the-top violence, excellent acting, unexpected plot twists and an f'd up anti-hero. There is also a very notable action/fight scene with a hammer, that is not to be missed.
I'm very picky about what I put into my DVD collection, so it isn't vast. However, I am saving a special place for 'Oldboy'.

If you are in the market for straight up revenge, this movie is it. Part of a trilogy of revenge movies including Sympathy for Mr. Vengence, and Lady Vengence, Oldboy is my personal favorite. (via amazon)

Of all the films in the trilogy Old Boy is by far my favourite. This is clearly the most surprising and twisted and doesn't lack in any category. I already own this on DVD but wouldn't mind having this three-disc collector's edition with all the extras!

Great film with a disturbing, surprise twist that you will absolutely NOT see coming. This movie definately won't go over well as an American remake.
