Trillian is a great application for those of us that use multiple instant messaging services and accounts. I personally use Yahoo!, AIM and MSN. Trillian allows me to run one application and have access to all three services. Trillian also supports ICQ and IRC. The application is free for the basic version, and I don't recommend buying the pro version as there is almost no difference.

Basically, it is a great free application that allows you to run multiple instant messaging platforms at the same time.

I've been using Trillian for ages to chat with friends across platforms..I've never had any systems issues and the interface is friendly and attractive.

You can use all your different IM accounts (AOL, Yahoo!, etc) in one application. The paid version of Trillian is more full featured than the free one (and is very inexpensive)
