i almost peed my pants when i opened this on christmas day! for years, i have been watching my taped-off-tv version and it finally broke while i was in high school. i am so happy they decided to release this on dvd! it's a 3 hour t.v. movie from 1985 and all the great stars from the 70s/80s make cameos - my favorites are sammy davis jr. as the smoking caterpillar and ringo starr as the mock turtle! this is a MUST HAVE for any fan of alice in wonderland. in my opinion, it's the best adaptation of the book (sorry disney!). it also has alice through the looking-glass which is cool cause most versions don't cover the second part of the book. LOVES IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This version aired on TV and I remember enjoying it. I think its because it was kind of a musical and had Sammy Davis Jr as the caterpillar. Scott Baio, Red Buttons, Beau & Lloyd Bridges and Shelley Winters also star. (via Amazon)

This is my favorite version of Alice (get Alice Through the Looking Glass as well.) I first viewed it through the eyes of a child, so the not-so-perfect makeup and costuming pre-CGI from the 80's doesn't bother me. The songs are great and I love the All Star cast with John Stamos, Carol Channing, Sammy Davis Jr. etc.
