It's such a classic piece, but without the super iconic feeling that most mid-century pieces have (think Eames, Noguchi, etc). They're timeless.

My Panton chair is red, and the current version of the classic. The original Panton design had a smooth finish, the modern variant from Vitra has a textured surface and a slightly more bulging shape to add rigidity.

Simply one of the finest chairs ever designed, the Panton chair is surprisingly affordable. Cheap, even. Every home should have one. (via Vitra)
