I can see that being a real talking point. But for that price tag, it is almost worth trying to get your hands on some old ones and making it yourself...

Artist John Carter designed it as a chair but to me his creation speaks art, social commentary and interior design. Made from Walk/Don't Walk signs from New York City, the chair actually works with a remote control to turn it on and off. It can be ordered with all the scuffs and stains from NYC or squeeky clean and freshly painted. And it's recycled! It can be yours for $3700.

I am a horribly misplaced New Yorker. And so I would love to have an actual piece of the City to remind me of how wonderful it was to be able to walk everywhere. I may not actually let anyone sit on it however. It's art, you know. By John Carter. (via Uncommon Goods)
