Okay, so it's $3,700 - but how awesome would it be to take a seat at this artisan-crafted chair, made from working New York City "Walk/Don't Walk" signs? (via bookofjoe)

Artist John Carter designed it as a chair but to me his creation speaks art, social commentary and interior design. Made from Walk/Don't Walk signs from New York City, the chair actually works with a remote control to turn it on and off. It can be ordered with all the scuffs and stains from NYC or squeeky clean and freshly painted. And it's recycled! It can be yours for $3700.

I am a horribly misplaced New Yorker. And so I would love to have an actual piece of the City to remind me of how wonderful it was to be able to walk everywhere. I may not actually let anyone sit on it however. It's art, you know. By John Carter. (via Uncommon Goods)

Also not sure if I'd sit on it (or if one's even supposed to?) but my hesitance would come from fear of those backlights really warming up.

This is pretty interesting...don't know if for the price I would actually sit on this "chair" but I really dig it! (via Uncommon Goods)
