I got this and get much more use out of my iPod as a result, it is portable and great to have by your computer. Although a little more expensive than the alternatives, the Bose version gets rave reviews by me for its excellent sound and durability.

Oh, Bose SoundDock, truly, you save me from boredom (or having to buy a TV).
Whether I want to listen to NPR or Royksopp on my iPod, I know you will always be there for me (choke, sob), at least until your warrantee runs out.

Because I love my iPod and want to buy it a nice dock to sit upon whilst it's charging. Because we don't have music playing capabilities in the bedroom. And, because it looks much nicer than most speaker systems.
