In recent history, I have been overwhelmed by friends, family, co-workers, and even my boss from my day job for insight into their underwear choices…ya know, seeing how I am kinda a skivvy expert (in my own mind and apparently in the minds of others). I’ve been giving good advice, but not taking it. A few weeks ago, a friend was looking for a virtually invisible bra to wear under all of the jerseys, silks and satins that are so popular right now - I immediately suggested the Spanx Bra-llelujah line and raved and raved until she eventually purchased both styles and I bought one too ( I give a rather convincing sales pitch, I must say). Now, a fractured segue into my point via a few pieces of information…

#1 I never pick out my clothes in advance, which is one of the reasons I hate packing

#2 I ALWAYS make sure to match my underwear to my outfits, because I abhor skivvy lines of any kind - panty or otherwise

So, last weekend I am getting ready for a party and slip into my oh-so-adorable Phillip Lim cocktail dress to find that my all-purpose bra wasn’t quite fitting the bill (why is it so hard to wear satin?). Because of the pantyline obsession thing, I was already in my handy-dandy Spanx panties…and there I was in my hotel with 10 minutes to spare with craaaaaaazy bra lines fouling up my adorable dress -grrrrrrr. So, since I aspire to be a fashion Macgyver (also, I suck at packing, so I end up just throwing everything into my bag) - I’d randomly thrown a Spanx Bra-llelujah into my bag et viola! A quick bra swap and I was on my way - all sleek, chic and line free (not to mention comfortable and supported). (via Bare Necessities)
