  Mike Lawrence is my favorite bridge author. I have read ten of his books and used some of his software programs. He teaches you how to think about bridge, and provides multiple useful examples of hands that fit each idea he conveys. He also has a wry humor. I have had the pleasure to meet him in bridge tournaments and play against him as well. My take: he is gruff, but still brilliant and worth reading.
