These bracelets are eye-catching pieces of art in their own right, but they also carry an important message about the importance of safeguarding freedom of expression and the right to read. The adult-sized bracelet features such books as Go Ask Alice, The Color Purple, and Howl -- all books that have been challenged or banned by book censors at various times.

Declare your independence as a banned book reader? OK!! I really want one of these bracelets not only because they're gawgeous, but also because I love most of the books on the banned book reading list, (The Giver, Alice in Wonderland, etc.)

Love this! Way to take something ugly, like censorship, and turn it into something much, much better (and an advertisment for all of those "naughty" publications)

My 6th grade teacher would kill for this bracelet. How the heck could they ban "To Kill A Mockingbird"? This bracelet sure makes a beautiful thing out of a total disgrace.
