This is a cute little RC controlled car. It has damage panels that fall off in battle to indicate levels of pain. Its a very cool idea. Unfortunately the toy does not live up to the hype. The cover art prominently displays the arms, weapons, and shields as major parts of the toys functionality. The torso is not motorized and cannot be controlled with the remote. The best that can be hoped for is to spin the whole car to get the arms to swing. The mace often gets caught under the car and impedes movement. The packaging is elaborate and took me 20 minutes to open without damaging, though if you power through it you could be up and running in 10. A screw driver is required. The device requires both AA and 9V batteries. The battery covers are not permanently attached to the device, and as all parents know, will be lost permanently within a week. The battle damage panels are similarity not attached. The car radio frequency is not changeable [well, I suppose if you had a soldering iron and a crystal it is] and you need to pay attention to which units you try to combine for interference. Adults would not enjoy this toy, and would be better served with more complex fair. Not a good toy for someone who has other RC devices [they would expect too much]. All that being said, its probably a good toy for a child around 10 years old. It's always fun to cause mayhem ramming cars into things. A decent buy at $30 dollars, worth a couple hours of playtime with the right child.
I look forward to their next generation, and anticipate a greater degree of control.
