The concept of this book is quite ambitious, but well done. A thought provoking socio- anthropological account of how the many nations and people of the world got to be where they are today.

this is a clever and well written insight into the history of modern society. I recommend reading this on the train on your way to Machu Pichu - it some how makes Diamond's points about potatoes and guinea pigs all that more meaningful.
