This spoon is made in the U.S.A.! Most of my recommendations here wind up being from Germany, but that is because most of the U.S.A. artisans I find are local, and seem to be doing so well that they don't bother with the web. Which is a good thing, I suppose. Though its sad for all those moms not surrounded by a glut of organic toys.
This spoon seems to be made of cherry wood. It can be used as a feeding spoon, or as a toy, or as a spoon-then-toy, which is what seems to happen with my baby girl. Its beautiful and delicate and well loved at this point.
Its a wide round spoon, so its not as ergonomic as a commercial spoon. But it doesn't seem to be a problem for my family. I don't wash it in the dishwasher, but its very sturdy, I bet you could.
