  I love modern takes on old items. These would work well in the office, the bath, the kitchen, just about anywhere. From DWR Crocheted Rubber Baskets Based in Rome, Rosanna Contadini had the big idea of combining the old-world techniques of knitting, crocheting and knotting with an industrial material like Neoprene®. The result is a flexible basket (2007) that’s very touchable and has a bit of a punk attitude. The synthetic 8mm rubber yarn is produced in an Italian factory, and the baskets are hand woven by a cooperative of women who each bring their traditional techniques to the process. Each hand-crocheted basket varies slightly. Made in Italy.
