I recently started to collect enamelware and tin plates and cups. I love how light they are- great for tossing in a picnic basket or backpack- and they come in so many great, bright, bold patterns. This set is a recent addition and looks great on our patio table.

Enamelware is also a great choice for entertaining- an upgrade from paper and plastic plates that pays for itself. How? Well think of it this way- other than the obvious fact it's re-usable, it also goes a long way towards covering your decor needs. These on a solid $3 plastic tablecloth (try black- people don't expect it on a patio table but it looks gorgeous and sets off colorful items wonderfully) and voila! Cross focal point off your decorating "to do" list for your summer party.

Picnicware doesn't have to be plastic-- and plastic could never look as lush and lovely as the enameled flowers on this set. Lightweight tin makes this eminently portable. Serving lemonade suddenly seems much more romantic.
