Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity

This is one of the few time management/personal productivity books I've ever read that's actually made sense. In this case, David Allen was able to explain why my to do list was getting longer by the day, my brain was feeling more and more overwhelmed, and my email in-box was about to implode. (Actually, it did implode a few times, but I'll leave that story for another day.) In a nutshell, Allen's book maps out a simple strategy for "getting things done" that involves getting those "to dos" out of your head and on to a series of "action" lists. Of course, you have to work the system. No system is maintenance-free. There are a growing number of Internet websites devoted to the ideas contained in this compelling and idea-filled book -- e.g., DIYPlanner.com, 43folders.com, and LifeHacks.com. If you decide to give Allen's system a go, you'll find plenty of online support and inspiration.

I realy like this book. Particularily, because I`m french, there was good info. It seems there is never much good information on time management or gestion du temps. i have had to read all books in english. The only good site i find in french for gestion du temps is formation qualitemps. I took the course there and it make reference to this book as a source. It was very helpful.

David Allen goes way beyond time saving strategies. He reveals why you procrastinate and reframes your thinking about priorities. Not only can I get more done in a day, it's actually easier to do because of the techniques I learned from this book. Highly recommend.

because i get NOTHING done... well that's not entirely true, but you know what i mean...this seems obvious. i doesn't make me create a whole new way of doing things; just improves and refines and clarifies what i do now. sooooo much better than setting my desk on fire, but then again not as much fun. thanks elna!
