Battlestar Galactica - Season One (2004)

Battlestar Galactica - Season One (2004) - Photo

One of the best science fiction shows on TV. Right up there with the first dozen seasons of Stargate SG-1, but Battlestar Galactica is a bit grittier and less frolicky.

I loved the original Battlestar Galactica but the revised version is even better. Excellent product values, good acting, great plotlines- everything you want. But it is not just mindless entertainment. Instead the new BSG deals with interesting issues of identity, souls, and what is means to be human. Plus there is plenty of human interest side stories to keep everyone happy. Finally, sci-fi that my wife likes to watch as well (that is a true rarity) Get it on DVD and prepare to spend hours fleeing the Cylons

this isn't your stereotypical science fiction tv show with phasers and spandex and peaceful universal federations. this is a "down to earth" well-acted honest reflection of real-life: politics, humanity, betrayal, survival, issues of race, the war in iraq, even probing what makes us human... currently, the show is in it's stellar third season. a little less funny than the first few seasons of Stargate SG-1 (1-5), but no less quality. and the cylon women are hot!

Easily the best science fiction series since Quantum Leap, and probably the best thing going right now period. The show's future is uncertain, but strong DVD sales are bound to weigh in favor of keeping it going.

Tight writing, great characters, believable world, and more suspense and drama than you could ever ask for.

Subject matter and sci-fi setting aside, this show, in my opinion, is one of the most well-written and well-acted dramas on television. After you've checked out the miniseries, make sure you have the first season DVD waiting by the TV. You'll want to start watching immediately.

This series works for fans of science fiction and fans of good television. It takes off where Star Trek Next Generation left and brings a less preachy, less moral-laden mix of action and drama. The acting is good, the SGI is good, and the plot arc works. This is one of those series that has innumerable devoted fans who will try to lure you into watching it. Once you watch it you will join this cult-like group and find yourself recruiting your friends to watch it with you.

Ok, I held off watching this tv series because I thought it was too nerdy with the spaceships and such, but after so many recommendations from friends, I gave in. I can't believe what I was missing out! The acting is amazing, the storylines are deep, and the suspense is awesome! There's a lot of drama to this show, and don't understimate the power of this show. It's clearly one of my favorites now!

Great miniseries. Don't be fooled by the scifi. It's a military drama at its best.
