Sarah Finn brings her architectural sensibility and woodworkers skills to the humble coaster, playing with flowers and patterns to create this coaster set. Laser cut and stained, these dark chunks of ornamented wood provide a base for the libation of your choice. Sturdy (even though they look delicate), and wipeable. Set of 8 (two of each design).

Well, wood has definitely come back in a huge way (WHO CALLED IT, SUCKERS??).

This is one of the many examples of ways to use wood with a contemporary twist - in this case, laser cutting gorgeous, intricate designs, making an event out of the most banal household object - the humble coaster. (via laurasweet)
