I own this hammock tent. It is very light and easy to hike with and very much more comfortable than sleeping on the ground. The only down fall is that if it is cold outside being in the air makes you even colder....also it is a bit too entertaining in the wind.
All in all I would recommend it for summer hiking/camping. (via REI)

I used this last winter in Ohio and this summer in Florida. In even moderately cold weather it wasn't very comfortable, but in Florida it was heavenly comfortable. I would highly recommend this for hiking/camping in the summer.
