Shoshana Damari is "the" voice of the young Israel, or the "Queen of Israeli song". Not only her beautiful dark timbre, but definitely her very oriental pronounciation of Hebrew words is what she is remembered for (she was of Yemenite origin).
These is an album with beautiful songs from the early years, published in 1961.
