Possibly the most original and daring soundtrack of these times. A brilliant juxtaposition of indie rock and old-school Vivaldi. It will make you smile and it will make you want to dance.

From the classical "Concerto in G" to the electronic sounds of New Order's "Ceremony" to the hard rocking "I Want Candy" by Bow Wow Wow, this soundtrack has a little bit of everything. Somehow the diverse elements sync together to become one cohesive whole . . . and a fabulous soundtrack.

Such a good mix of music! Great classic cool pop and punk songs. From the atmospheric (Aphex Twin, "Hong Kong Garden") to sugary-pop (there are three Bow Wow Wow songs on here) and the slightly more angular (Gang of Four's "Natural's Not It"). It's an indie-kid's dream soundtrack.

I love this movie and the soundtrack pretty much drove it.

I've never been too into that New Romantic stuff, but the "Marie Antoinette" soundtrack has totally sold me on Siouxsie & The Banshees, New Order, Bow Wow Wow, and all those other bands. I'm especially obsessed with "Natural's Not In It" by Gang of Four, which mostly has to do with Sofia Coppola's brilliant use of the song in the film's opening credits (the shot of Kirsten Dunst getting her toenails done and dragging her finger through the cake frosting = one of my favorite movie images ever).
