This is a fantastic little biofeedback device that helps induce a relaxation response. Basically you place your left index finger in the reader and the display shows your variable heart rate. You control your breathing to create long slow waves in heart rate, which is linked to your nervous system. There is plenty of science behind this device; hospitals are using it in clinical trials. I bought one several months ago during a stressful period. After 30mins of use I felt noticeably more relaxed, even sleepy (insomnia was a problem at the time).
