My favorite Lynch film, which affected me deeply. Jack Nance, to me, is the ultimate embodiment of human innocence. I'm looking at the framed poster on my wall right now.

I would describe this as a father-to-be's nightmare about childbirth. My favorite line, "Mother! They don't know if it's a baby or not. They don't know WHAT it is." Well, it's been a long time since I've seen the movie, so that may not be an exact quote, but the images (such as the crying "baby" that looks like a skinned calf) are indelibly printed on my brain. I remember when "Twin Peaks" was on TV, and I thought, omigod! they let him on prime time!! And it was one of the best shows ever! Love David Lynch. He is an inspiration and a spur to creativity.
