I know some people may not think so highly of Ralph Lauren for whatever reason - unchanging, conservative, commercial etc. -- but these are the reasons I appreciate his contribution to the world of fashion. I do like the simplicity of his designs, the fact that his pieces are timeless, and that the Polo shirt will forever be a classic. His book, out this month, is a celebration of 40 years of his work.
