I’ve been in the market for an MP3 player and the Archos 704 WiFi has definitely caught my eye. This multimedia player allows you to watch or stream video from your PC to your Archos, surf the web, record your favorite TV show or movie, view standard video formats in full DVD resolution, transfer photos directly from your digital camera, or browse and play music. It comes with a 7-inch touch screen in either 40 or 80 GB capacity. You can surf the web with the 802.11g WiFi connection. The tech specs boast a battery life of 25 hours for music playback or 5.5 hours of video playback. With the optimal DVR travel adapter or DVR station it has a stereo line-in for audio recording. I have been looking for a way to transfer my old LP’s onto CD’s and wonder if I could use this device as well (although I suspect they did not have that in mind when they designed it!).
