I didn't understand what the big deal about Italian Beef was - it's a sandwich for God's sake - until I tried an Italian Beef at Mr. Beef in Chicago. The thinly sliced meat is seasoned, piled into an Italian roll, and garnished with giardiniera, the most awesome spicy hot pickled vegetable mix ever.
