The legendary Fred! He's mainly available in urban centers and that's because he caters to a certain crowd. I do have to hand it to the company, their devotion to a unique idea is pretty cool: the name, an entire webzine dedicated to the lifestyle (fredspot.com), updates on FaceBook, MySpace, Twitter - you name it.
Move aside though, water lover coming through. Fred is a very low mineral spring water. There's not much in it. It's very low-key mostly, with about a neutral pH. This makes it a very smooth sip for most.
Maybe it's my over-sensitive palate but I find the scarcity of minerals overall highlights the ones that are there in higher concentrations. I taste either Magnesium or Calcium, which gives it a slightly metallic after-feel. Again, you may not notice this at all.
Bottom line: Smooth sipping, very neutral and low-key but in a good way (unlike the chemically proportioned Poland Spring). Aquaphiles may taste some salts (Mg or Ca). Very cool flask shaped bottle.

I bought this while traveling. We're military and I love trying different drinks. It is SO Good!!!! Now I can't find it anywhere and am totally bummed. I admit, I have had a fred water dream of being thirsty in the desert.
