Don't get confused. Rice vinegar and mirin are not the same thing. Mirin is a type of rice vinegar that has been "seasoned" with sugar (and sometimes salt). Add 2 Tbsp rice vinegar to every 2 c. (uncooked) white rice. (via Products on TasteSpotting)
