Without question, this mid 90s, Tom Hanks starred film has become one of those unforgettable modern classics. Expect people to be loving this one for a very long time. The soundtrack is awesome too.

Forrest Gump unwittingly falls into major events of the later 20th century and remains untouched. The character who really undergo changes in this movie are Jenny, the love of his life, and Captain Dan, who goes from being (slightly) psychopathic soldier to embittered amputee vet to a man at peace with himself. Forrest serves as the anchor to both these characters.

Gary Sinise was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Captain Dan, but lost. Shame on the Academy!
