Timbuk2 isn't the first name you think of when you start looking for luggage, and that's because they've pretty much only been known for making fantastic computer bags. They recently decided to kick things up a notch and jump into travel bags as well, and if you're a bag-head like I am, you'll definitely want to pick up one of these and put it to good use.

The Patrol bag is for people who don't like rollaboard bags, and this one actually offers a lot more versatility than your standard piece of flight luggage. It has tuck-away shoulder straps, a separate laptop compartment, several organizer compartments (great for gear and gadgets), and even his several pockets hidden behind the padding on the back of the pack.

The external compression straps will let you pack it full of clothes for a weekend trip, or you can toss in some books and gear and take it to school. There are side pockets, external pockets, and internal pockets galore, so it'll hold whatever you toss at it. It's like a backpack with gusto, and offers a much easier (and more comfortable) way to haul your gear around.

This one went with me when I headed back to Texas to visit friends and family, and my brother wanted to go out and buy one of his own after messing around with it. It's literally the only bag I've spent time with that could be a luggage bag, work bag, gym bag, and a computer gear bag all at the same time. Plus, any bag that tucks a water bottle pocket on the outside is tops in my book.
