This film adaptation is a U.K. version from '72. I wasn't immediately familiar with it, but was sure I had seen it at some point in my life. After looking at some stills I realized I had seen it eons ago. Its a musical version and stars Dudley Moore (that was the only actor I could recognize by name) Oh, and Peter Sellers (The Pink Panther). From what I remember, this movie was better than the NBC version that came out in '99 and the '85 version. Come to think of it, I think this was the first Alice movie I ever saw. (via Amazon)

I have two copies of this. One is very faded out, and I prefer to watch that one. This Alice has a very pretty face but she is rather large and clunky looking when she dances. She was too mature for the part. She has a more openly mocking attitude to Wonderland than Alice does in the book. The actors are completely wasted, you can't tell who they are. At least they all have English accents and don't go "mod" or anything.
