You've got some sexy curves there bbaby...

I did a write up on the BB8300 a few weeks ago, but it deserves a rewrite since the official product launch is now taking place.

The BB 8300, or the Curve, is RIM's next entry into the prosumer market and it is a good one. I actually had a chance to get my hands on one last week and I can say that it is going to be a winner. The 8300 is an excellent combination of the blackberry we all know and love and its newest multimedia features. Let's do a quick rundown:

2MP Camera with integrated flash
Media Player (supporting WMA, WMV, and H.263)
microSD card slot
Push to Talk
Bluetooth Support
XM Radio (8.99/month)
IM Messaging (remember it uses SMS for IM!)

The device is a svelte 15.5m, making it one of the thinnest blackberries out there. You get the thinness of the Pearl and 8800, while enjoying a more manageable keyboard (a la the 8700).

Needless to say, I'll definitely be getting this baby when it comes out. At this pace, I won't be able to keep up with all of my devices!

Expect the Blackberry Curve to be available by the middle of the May on the AT&T/Cingular Network. (via Gizmodo)

I had the Curve just before I transitioned to the iPhone and had no complaints whatsoever. RIM did a good job of adding the right amount of bells and whistles to make this give some form and fun to the Blackberry's historically solid functionality. It's a very light smartphone that fits well in the palm of your hand. Though the interface may not be as dynamic as the iPhone's, it makes sense and is suitable for the more serious cell phone user.

I don't know how I lived without my Curve for so long... it feels like I'm finally out of the dark ages ;) I especially love some of the great applications like Google Maps and Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=2254487659&ref=s

I have the 8703 Blackberry and am thinking about switching to the curve. I think your recommendation is pushing me into curve territory.

I love this phone! It's my first blackberry so I can' t really compare it to other blackberry models; I just love how I have access to Google talk and how it's pretty thin and just easy to use with the trackball in the middle. I personally like it better than the iphone just because you can actually feel that you are typing out the letters as opposed to typing on the screen.

I did run into problems when installing it on my work computer, but since then It's been great! I LOVE MY BERRY!

This was a Christmas present five months ago, and I haven't put it down since. If you are always on the go, things to do, people to see, no time to check your email before you leave but it's crucial- this is what you want. I can even check in to my flights on the road using the web-browser. Talk to your friends with blackberries using the BlackBerryMessenger application.
This product is amazing. Great for busy people, college students, those who need to always be in touch. (via AT&T Wireless)

RIM continues to impress us with new berries. The curve with the built in camera and gps is a huge step for RIM because they have kept the gadget factor down and gone for reliability but they waited until they could perfect it.
