This is a funny and reassuring guide to writing. (No, you're not the only one who plays head games with yourself in order to trick yourself into writing. That's part of the creative process, as Anne will teach you.) I use this book in every writing workshop and course I teach because it is inspiring and funny. That's an awesome combination.

The most important chapter in this book is called "Shitty First Drafts" - because if you can't get past the gap between what you imagine and what actually comes out of your pen, you won't ever get your story finished.
