Nothing says I don't care about my image AND I care way too much about my image at the same time like a pair of Birkenstocks. I had an ex-boyfriend who lived in these ... why do you think he is an ex.

I have a confession to make... I wear Birkenstocks. I know, I know, they look silly. I DON'T care! Birks are the most comfortable sandals I have found. In this case, I will sacrifice style for comfort. (OK, so I'll make that sacrifice a lot... don't tell my wife.)

After years of blisters, I gave up on not wearing sandals when traveling through Germany. (Yes, I learned the German word for blisters.) I tried on a pair of Birkenstocks and hobbled my way to happy feet. I've been wearing them ever since (for close to 20 years now).

I didn't think they could improve on them but they did this year! I've always worn the style with the backstrap but when I was in the store recently, I tried on the Arizona Soft Birkenstocks. WOW! Let's talk comfort. Like buttah! The sole is soft and I mean SOFT! I bought them on the spot. I'm waiting for the other style to come out with the soft sole.

If you think Birks are goofy looking, get over and get a pair... or two.
