The first movie I ever saw Natalie Portman in. I watched her acting and said, "who is that?" A story about small-town life and unrealized dreams. A bit sad but that's what I like about it. Good cast and interesting dialogue. (via amazon.com)

Beauty isn't necessarily as beauty does in this movie about men, women and the search for a love that will last. My favorite scenes, however, involve conversations between the character played by Timothy Hutton (Willie) and that of Natalie Portman (Marty). Natalie, even as a tween, nearly steals the whole show.

A touching & funny film with a fantastic ensemble cast. It will make you nostalgic for the mid-90s and remember your first, fourth or seventh love. Many of the characters are so real and so familiar, you'll want to call an old friend or lover or the girl who used to live next door. The soundtrack is fantastic and accompanies the sleepy snow-bound small town setting perfectly.
