I had never even heard of "clay bar" or it's use in auto detailing, but one use made a believe out of me. Clay bar is a non-abrasive compound that feels like the tacky putty that elementary school teachers use to put posters on the wall. You spray your car with the quick detailer solution, then gently rub the clay bar across the area. It picks up any oxidation or impurities and keeps those things from embedding in your paint job.
I was told to put my hand in a ziploc bag and rub it across the hood of my car before and after using the clay bar. WOW. The "Before" feeling was rough, the "after" feeling was as smooth as glass.
Try it. You'll like it.
