This is david leadbetter before the marketing guys got a hold of him and told him to break up his swing instruction into an 8 part series. No instruction lays out the concepts of what makes the swing tick -- at least not since Hogan's groundbreaking "Five Fundamentals." Granted the quality is a bit amateurish, and granted Leadbetter had yet to meet a fashion consultant (his pants are hitched somewhere around his chest), but the man knows of what he speaks. If you want to understand the real principles of the golf swing, and get to scratch, and be able to teach yourself the game -- FIRE UP THIS VIDEO. Watch it more than once.

BTW, in the video Leadbetter takes a somewhat brown-nosing high handicapper and converts him into a guy with a pro swing (in about two weeks, I think, elapsed time.) Having watched this video for years in excruciating detail, I believe that the transformation is no hoax -- he really turns the guy around! Leadbetter is number one in instruction and in getting you to understand the why behind the why.
