There's plenty of re-usable shopping bags on the market -- most famously Whole Foods "I Am Not a Plastic Bag" tote that sold millions around the world. What I like about this one is that it's bold, it's fun, and it actually holds a decent amount of groceries (unlike most re-usable bags). Plus, it folds down to fit in your back packet, which is handy -- 'cause who wants to carry an empty bag down the street?

My current favorite reusable bags -- like so many of the others, they're strong and hold so much more than a standard plastic shopping bag. These are the ones I don't forget to use -- folded, the Baggu is a flat 5"x5" square. Some of the other compact bags are a little bulky, but I stash these practically everywhere. They come in a wide variety of gorgeous colors, and I really like the long straps that can be carried on the shoulder or in the hand. Almost perfect -- if the carrying pouch was attached, I'd be a happy camper, but that's a minor quibble. I like these so much I bought extras to hand out to friends ... and I've used them as somewhat unconventional gift bags.

These bags are simple and easy to manage. Fold it up and put it in your tote for those unexpected purchases when you're out and about. They come in an array of colors and are cheap too. You can but 6 bags and 6 pouches (choose the colors of each) for only $38!

I don't even remember how I found out about Baggu Bags, but I discovered that Endless.com has them, so I added them to my order one day. I get so many questions about these bags! They're huge, sturdy, and very cute. I can fit a week's worth of groceries from the farmer's market in 3 bags. I've also used them at the beach. After I unload them, I fold them up and put them into their little cases and slip them into my purse. Loves!
