It's pretentious, it's glossy, and it's so Hollywood. You gotta get the Hollywood issue every year for a fab dose of Who's Who. But besides that, every issue is packed with gossip and scandal all guised as being high-brow and elitiest. I love it. Plus the photo spreads are AMAZING.

Vanity Fair is one of my favorite magazines. Someone once said that if you read Vanity Fair you can sound like you are well-read without actually having to BE well read. Exactly. Has all the celebrity stuff a la PEOPLE magazine but with some world events thrown in (and printed on nicer paper). Perfect for those who want to appear smart without having to do the heavy lifting.

I have had a subscription to this magazine for almost 20 years and it is the best! From great writers like Dominick Dunne and Gail Sheehy, photographers like Annie Liebovitz, VF gives you access to celebrities and power like no other magazine. (via Rose Poirier)
