Nirvana is kind of it for me. Telling people that I've read all the books and know the words and most drum parts to every song is kind of pointless, just because I love them too much. Nevermind, the album first got the most attention and controversy for the band, was ground breaking to say the least. Their sound as a whole is just soaked with something different. The percussion is always on point, even when it's not supposed to be. The rhythm is so densely precise. The guitars grind every single song completely raw, and yet it's still sickly upbeat in a lot of ways. The lead singer's voice is probably the most amazing thing. In a very complex sense, he balances the pitch that he probably just drank gasoline for breakfast with a lot of really adorable little boy charm in his voice. The songs are supposed to be relatively simple so they could easily be learned by fans. The lyrics are usually short spoken with way too much impact behind them. This entire band is about balance and that is what they do best. If you need to get out a little aggression, this is the album for you.

When I started listening to rock music when I was 8 years old Nirvana was one of the first bands I discovered. Nevermind is definitely one the best rock albums ever! Nothing else needs to be said.

Smells Like Teen Spirit, Come as You Are, In Bloom, Lithium are just some of the iconic songs on this album. I mean, honestly, Nevermind was the voice of our generation... wow that sounds so deep.

I can't exactly recommend this because I don't know how to describe the feelings that you get once you listen to this album; it's like numbing. You don't get that whole get-up-and-dance type of feeling when listening to say..something like The Birthday Massacre's "Walking With Strangers", but you don't get that whole i'm-gonna-kill-myself-with-a-few-neckties feeling like Kurt. His music presents passion, teenage angst, some sort of philosophy and the want of being independent. I was so used to the whole jump around Green Day and Red Hot Chili Peppers movement in the nineties I never realized that there was a gravitational pull towards Nirvana that you couldn't describe.

I mean, who didn't (and or doesn't) love this album. To me, it's got to be one of the top grunge albums, not just of the 90s, but ever. I mean, it has "Come as You Are." Sold.
