Rounds of applause for Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson: winners of the gold and silver medals (respectively) in the women's individual gymnastics competition yesterday, August 14, 2008. Yang Yilin of China took home the bronze, in what was a tense and controversial competition from the elimination round to the completion of the individual competition. We'll see if the new scoring system remains in place when the Summer Games are next held in London in 2010.
